Over 50 DJs Performing to Help Heal New York at Pacha NYC this Wednesday November 14th
This Wednesday, November 14, Pacha NYC is doing something that no organization has ever done before – RPM & Pacha NYC are both proud to announce that they will be hosting a benefit for the victims of hurricane Sandy, called Help Heal New York. Since hurricane Sandy hit the tri-state area, Pacha NYC has been doing everything they can to help this great city, and for every event they have hosted over the last few weeks if you brought canned goods, you were allowed in for free or at least reduced admission to the event. Pacha NYC is doing the unthinkable because 100% of the proceeds from this event will be going to the Red Cross and other local charities – 100% meaning all of the profits and other money made at this event, from coat check tips to DJ fees will be donated to help fix the damages and the victims who were effected by this awful tragedy.
This benefit is more like a festival then an event because there are over 50 international and local DJs that will be performing over the course of the evening, Read more →
Subliminal Records makes a big comeback to the US – Erick Morillo & Sympho Nympho @ Pacha NYC
Subliminal Records rumbled back into NYC for the first time since Subliminal Sessions Vs Dirty Dutch @ Governor’s Island this summer. It was obvious that the high energy crowd at Pacha NYC this past Friday were ready for the hometown hero and crew to get the place moving. The Pacha dancers were dressed appropriately, sporting some sexy flight attendant uniforms as if they just got off of Morillo’s plane back from Ibiza. The venue was decorated supporting the frequent Pacha NYC performers, as if it was a welcome home celebration.
Sympho Nympho brought an invigorating opening set with them, playing groovy latin-inspired remixes of some of our favorite recent tunes. The most amazing thing about these guys are that, no matter what tune they play, one can find it impossible not bob their head, let alone dance like there is no tomorrow. People go to Pacha to move, and Sympho Nympho’s set was seemingly forcing everyone attending to do so. If you happened to miss their set Friday night, I’d definitely recommend not missing them the next time they come around the area. They primed the atmosphere to get ready for Morillo’s self-proclaimed “bumpy, dirty, and groovy” set.
Erick Morillo was blatantly excited to be back in New York, immediately praising the crowd for being there for him. He immediately jumped in after Sympho Nympho’s closing, and was quickly enthralled with the tunes he began to feed his followers. He is a captivating DJ to watch; he always seems to be feeling the music better than anyone else in the room. His set progressively grew out of a tech house groove to progressive house infused latin flavored tracks. He kept a packed house well into the night, just showing how devout of a following he has, and enforcing why Pacha has such a significant place in his heart. Subliminal Records will keep this winter hot in the USA with their events to come!
Aba & Simonsen – Soul Bossa Nova (Chuckie & Mastiksoul Remix)

CHUCKIES TAKE ON TECH/TRIBAL, I’ll need to take a look at this one. Not being the biggest tech fan out there I was interested to see what Chuckie would do with this Austin Powers inspired remix. Chuckie creates the perfect head bobbing tribal drums that really keep you interested and keep you moving the entire track. This song is a bomb for tribal sets.
Tech Tues: Diddy Dirty Money – I’m Coming Home (Sevag – Area 201 Reboot) + Bonus!

NYC Native Sevag has been known for throwing down the dirtiest Tech House and Tribal beats in the area and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Although this may not be the newest of tracks, this remix of Diddy’s “Coming Home” adds hard hitting 808 drums and tribal percussion to the mix to make it an instant club banger.

Tech Tues: Marcos Carnaval & Luca Di Napoli – 808 (Original Mix)

This tech house track titled “808″ has many noticeable instances of the classic 808 kick drum with varying percussion that is strong and takes over the beat. As you listen in the back drop you hear housy synths come in and keep the bass rolling and rhythm flowing. This is a very catchy tech song and is highly recommended. Enjoy!

Tech Tues: Christina Aguilera – Not Myself Tonight (Chus & Ceballos In Stereo Club Mix)

This week on Tech Tuesdays we have Chus and Ceballos killer remis of “Not Myself Tonight”. Using Christina’s catchy vocals and Chus and Ceballos hard hitting jungle percussion makes this track a club banger and a perfect track to throw into an opening set to get the people moving. Throwing in some bouncy pitched synths to increase the mood, Chus and Ceballos really are the kings of Tech and Tribal House. Enjoy!
Tech Tues: Chus & Ceballos, Ralph F, Oscar G – The Dark Beat Moves (Diskotek & John Jay WMC Roll Call Mix)

Three pioneers in the tech/tribal genre come together to make one of the most well known tracks of last year, “Dark Beat”. This remix makes the original track even harder hitting with drums that will make your floor shake. Catchy percussion and hard hitting toms is what makes this remix so catchy and as you hit the 3:00 minute mark you will feel the rise and build up that leads to more drums than you can ever imagine. We all love the dark beat. Enjoy!
