Electric Beach: Tim Mason Recap

It was another jam packed night at Santos Party House, who hosted the British progressive house producer Tim Mason‘s late night set. As the night progressed, the energy simply never stopped. The 50-ft line out the door at 1am suggested that this party had no plans to stop.

As Mason started his set, the crowd all turned their heads to the intimately placed DJ booth placed right below the Santos VIP section. One of the greatest things about Santos is the fact that there is no disconnect from the DJ to the crowd. Everyone can surround the booth close enough for the DJ to feel the vibe of the night. Tim Mason warmed up to the energetic crowd with some older tracks such as “The Island” and Kaskade – “Eyes”. About 30-40 minutes into his set, Mason finally began to respond to the wildly enthusiastic crowd with a more complex mixing style that kept everyone dancing. Tracks such as Bassjackers – “Mush Mush” and Nari & Milani – “Atom” were mixed together well, paying homage to Santos insanely bass-heavy sound system. “New York City’s Best Sound System” is definitely no kidding around. The bass continued to rattle everyone’s chest and keep them on their feet well into 4am. Mason finished off with some good sing along tracks such as Afrojack feat Steve Aoki – “No Beef” which was mixed into Axwell’s remix of “In My Mind” by George Kay. Upon finishing his set, Mason still had a packed out crowd. Everywhere from the VIP section to the mezzanine areas, to the dance floor, the place was still asking for more. Hands down, if you want another great after hours dance club, Santos is definitely putting out one of the best NYC has to offer.

Tim Mason had a great presence at his appearance at this past Saturday’s Electric Beach that really catered to the truly exciting crowd that filled the venue that night. The vibes of Santos Party House’s parties continue to get better and better every week, and will promise to ensue well into NYC’s 2012 summer night life.
