Review: Bounce Boat featuring dBerrie, Matt Goldman, and The Disco Fries!
This past Thursday I had the pleasure of seeing The Disco Fries, Matt Goldman, and the progressive power house dBerrie as we sailed around Manhatten on the Bounce Boat. The Bounce Boat was one of the most enjoyable shows I have been to recently because of the overall good mood of the crowd and the perfect DJ sets to set the overall vibe of the night.
First up was The Disco Fries and they set the mood perfectly as people started packing into the boat and grabbing there first drink (of many). Playing a variety of House, Tech House, and Minimal, The Disco Fries played a more laid back set than we were expecting from the duo. Although the set was softer than we assumed, the crowd was still loving the music and the selection of tracks met the crowds needs perfectly.
Next up on the list was Baltimore resident, Matt Goldman. Opening for a ton of world class acts such as Deadmau5, Avicii, An21, Max Vangelli, and even David Berrie himself, Goldman definitely knew how to get the crowd going wild and hyped up to hear dBerrie close out the night.
Spinning tracks such as TJR’s Tech House hit “Funky Vodka” and Tiesto and Marcel Wood’s “Don’t Ditch”. As he progressed through his set and the crowd got even more riled up he dropped Eric Prydz epic remix of M83’s “Midnight City” and closed hit set with Sultan and Ned Shepard’s new hit “Walls”. I personally loved Goldman’s set and feel it warmed up the crowd perfectly for dBerrie to hit the decks.

Last but not least we have the headliner of the event, dBerrie. Producing some of the best progressive vocal remixes out to date including Gotye’s “Somebody I Used To Know”, Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep”, and Elie Goulding’s “Lights”. Berrie started his set with no hesitation as he dropped the festival anthem “Atom”. The next couple of tracks played included “Metropolis”, his own dBerrie edit of “Molly”, Tommy Trash’s remix of “The Veldt” and Axwell’s remix of “In My Mind”. All of these were crowd favorites and everyone on the boat was dancing and having a great time. During his set, Berrie seemed like he was having a great time and enjoying his set and the vibe of the crowd.

Playing into a more progressive vibe dBerrie dropped tracks such as “Somebody I Used To Know”, Wolfgang’s “Redline”, Dirty South’s “Walking Alone” and “Coming Home”. Immediately following his progressive mood, Berrie started playing harder electro mid set to get the energy to the maximum level of all night. Finishing up with tracks such as Tommy Trash’s “The End”, Porter Robinson’s “Language”, Bingo Players “L’Amour”, and “Calling” ended the night perfectly and left everyone in the perfect mood for the after party.

Overall I thought Bounce Boat was an amazing event with great DJ’s. The crowd was fantastic, the music was excellent, and the view of the New York City skyline was breathtaking. We can not wait for next years Bounce Boat and hope to see all of you there as well. Thanks for reading.
