Review: EDX at Santos Party House

Saturday was a monstrous day for the Pachalolic crew. From sunrise to sunset we planned to be immersed in amazing house music from Robbie Rivera’s Juicy Beach Party to Santos Party House Electric Beach party. As we boarded the ferry back to NYC rumors swirled about who the special guest at Santos would be. Pachaholic was actually in the know and we couldn’t have been more excited. Even though we were leaving Juicy Beach behind, a small part of it was coming with us.

Earlier in the week we were given advanced notice that EDX was going to play at both Juicy Beach and Santos and we not about to miss this progressive powerhouse play at both venues. After hearing how hard EDX threw down at Juicy Beach as an opener for Robbie Rivera, we had no idea what to expect from his upcoming set but what we did know was that we were going to be blown away.

As we arrived at Santos the packed house was filled with excitement, we even witnessed people jostling one another trying to get the best possible view of the headlining artist. As EDX took the stage he instantly started playing crowd favorites such as “Somebody I Used To Know (Tiesto Remix)”, David Guetta and Nicky Romero’s “Metropolis”, and the epic mash up “Epic The Way You Kissed Me”. The crowd loved the energy that EDX was radiating off his set. EDX was clearly feeling the love smiling from ear to ear for almost the whole set.

As his set progressed and more people packed into Santos EDX continued his barrage of house ragers dropping Kaskade’s “Eyes”, Sultan and Ned Sheperd’s “Walls” and Tiesto’s “I Will Be Here.” EDX created an atmosphere where everyone in the audience was singing in unison, enveloped in a feeling of peace and togetherness, and dancing hard.

I’ve been coming to Santos for a while now and t this was by far one of the craziest nights I have seen there and by that I mean the best. The house was packed until the very last minutes of the evening. Closing out the night EDX dropped Marco V’s “Reaver”, Cedric Gervai’s “Molly”, Nari and Milani’s “Atom”, and Gregori Klosmon’s remis of “Room For Happiness”. The crowd was feeling every track he played and no one wanted to go home.

As EDX closed the stage the Pachaholic team was exhausted from the day and night of partying and had to find our way back into our respective beds. EDX will remain forever a huge part of that day putting on an electro and progressive house show case that I will not soon forget.
