Review: Sandro Silva at Opium Barcelona!
After what seemed like the longest 7 days, my favorite day of the week, “Loco Lunes” was finally here. What I looked forward to most was my first encounter with Sandro Silva. My eyes sparkled with anticipation as one of Holland’s greatest treasures stepped foot into Opium Barcelona and took the stage. Silva’s energy only increased as the early hours of the morning approached. When Sandro started off the night with his festival classic “Epic” the crowd instantly went insane as they realized they were in for a night of flawless mixing and spontaneous mash ups.
Mixing into other popular originals such as “Get Lower” and “Libra” reminded the crowd of Silva’s amazing production skills and why so many DJ’s in the industry support himn. As the crowd sang along to Foxes soft soothing vocals of Zedd’s Clarity the crowd was amazed as he flawlessly mixed the track into Gregor Salto’s jungle anthem “Azumba”. After hearing such a well executed mash up you can tell by the look on the crowds faces that they were ready for any surprise that the Holland sensation would throw at them and would keep wanting more.
As the night progressed Silva started to show his harder electro side dropping Dada Life’s new single “So Young, So High” and Lucky Date’s remix of Avicii’s “Silhouettes”. Later on in his set Sandro took a more top 40 approach and played many vocal mash ups including Rihanna’s “Diamonds”, Wynter Gordon’s “Dirty Talk”, and Nicki Minaj’s “Starships”. This transition went over perfectly with the younger crowd and had all the fans singing along to there favorite top 40 classics. Finishing off his set Silva played Chuckie’s “Who Is Ready To Jump” and his original “She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)”.
Even though I didn’t want to, I knew it was time to leave when the lights came on and I suddenly realized the club around me was empty. After seeing Sandro Silva for the first time I will make sure to see him next time he comes into town. I would like to thank both Sandro Silva, Opium, and De Lis Group for an amazing night with great people. Loco Lunes was most definitely an Epic night and I suggest anyone in Barcelona to check out this amazing club.

Basto – Stormchaser (Original Mix)

Now this is a track that reminds of big room classics such as Tujamo’s “Who” and Sandro Silva’s “Epic”, it has that sort of feel that would bounce off of every surface of the venue and completely smack you in the face. This new original mix by Basto, most well known for “I Rave You”, features bouncy synths, tons of reverb, an ambient build up, and strong percussion to keep the beat flowing. As the beat gains energy you hear more electro type synths come into play, but all in all this is a house banger. Enjoy!
